Statement of Purposes
The purposes of the Friends of the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens Inc. (Daylesford),
hereinafter called the Friends, shall be to:
CONSERVE, protect and foster the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, hereinafter called the Gardens, and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, to conserve and protect the ecological integrity and landscape qualities of the gardens.
ENCOURAGE the support and appreciation of the Gardens by the residents of and by visitors to the Shire of Hepburn.
PROMOTE community awareness of the scientific, educational, historic and cultural functions and facilities of the Gardens.
FOSTER the interests of members in the Gardens, its flora and fauna, and in plants and fauna generally through education and fellowship.
ENSURE the curatorial and educational functions of the Gardens become widely known through publicity and the development of appropriate voluntary activities.
EXERT the influence of the Friends, as the Friends see fit, to assist the Gardens to develop as a more exciting and enlightening place for all members of the community.
SUPPORT the Shire of Hepburn in its efforts to maintain and conserve the gardens.
ASSIST the Gardens financially either directly or by seeking to become the means by which funds may be channelled to assist the Gardens.
ARRANGE and carry out such other activities as the members in general meeting may determine towards encouraging an amicable feeling among members.
MAINTAIN and develop the bond between the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens , other provincial botanic gardens, the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, and the people of Victoria.
